VPN on PlayStation: how it works, and what to expect

PlayStation takes no VPN app — the console does not allow installing that kind of program, which is why no service has an app for it. The two ways in are setting the VPN up on your router, or sharing a Windows computer's connection. Through the router, the console exits through Brazil with nothing to set up on the device itself.

Through the router, step by step
- Check whether your router supports WireGuard — the router guide has the list of brands.
- Download the configuration file in your account, under Devices → Use on a router.
- Import the file in the router's VPN settings.
- Turn the connection on and confirm the router shows the tunnel as active.
- Everything connected to that router now exits through Brazil — including the device on this page.
What this does not solve
- Online play gets slower. A VPN sends your traffic through one more server along the way, and that adds a few milliseconds — in competitive play you can feel it. To play with the least lag, turn it off.
- We promise access to no service. What FortiSafe delivers is a Brazilian IP and an encrypted connection; what each platform decides to do with that changes without notice, and is not in our hands.
- Changing your IP does not change your account. The store's region belongs to the account, not the connection, and changing region has the maker's own rules.
What about FortiSafe?
The app exists today for iPhone and Windows; Android, Mac and TV are being built.
For anything that takes no app, the way in is the router — and the configuration file is in your account.
